Prayer for the Nation

It is vital that we seek the Gods Kingdom to come here in this Nation, and for His sovereign will and rule to be established in every area of our society, from business to government, the media industry to the school system and so on.

Seeking our Father's kingdom to come is far more than personal salvation.  This is about the destiny of nations, whether we will be judged as a sheep or a goat nation.

As part of our mandate, we seek the LORD on what He is saying.  This is both including Scripture and also the prophetic gifting.  The networking amongst houses of prayer across the UK and what God is saying to each of us individually helps to build up a picture of what He is saying, and therefore helps to inform our prayers.

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

This Scripture is not referring to unbelievers.  The context of this is that God was speaking about Israel, but as we have been grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel by faith, we can utilise this Scripture for our own nation.  So, from that standpoint, this is about the church coming together to pray and press into God for the UK.  We invite you to join us in doing this.

It's also interesting to note from this Scripture that God says if we do what is required of us, He will, heal our 'land'. We need to ensure that we see the characteristics of God in balance....His Father heart, but also His Kingship, His mercy, but also His justice etc.

"I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one."

Ezekiel 22:30 (NIV)

The 'wall' of God's Word has been taken down through the last half of the 20th century and continues to be taken down.  God is looking for His Church to stand in the gap on behalf of our nation, to show His love, and to live in accordance with His holiness.  Will we do it?  Will you join us in this?  As previously said, God is both merciful and just.  From this Scripture it is clear that God wants to show mercy on our land, but if we do not enable Him to do this by standing in the gap on behalf of it, then He will be forced to pour out His judgement on it.  It is clear to see even by watching the national news, that this country is in a desperate situation.

However, it's also important to note, that it's good to keep abreast of the amazing things God is doing in communities through reliable Christian sources.  In this, it shows the importance of thanksgiving.

Please join us in praying for our nation.  It is so vital that we do this, now more than ever before.
